Summary: The microfilmed letters and greeting cards to Jennie Allen from Abraham Rattner consist of 425 letters from Abraham Rattner to his sister, Jennie R. Allen, mostly about personal and family matters. Letters also include discussion of Rattner's art and philosophy. One letter discusses artists Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Rico Lebrun, and Erle Loran (November 8, 1972).
Biographical/Historical Note
Abraham Rattner (1895-1978) was an expressionist artist in New York, New York. He was known for his richly colored paintings, often with religious subject matter. Rattner was the second of six children. Jennie R. Allen was his younger sister.
