Tuesday, July 22, 1873- Dwight and I went out in Bowyers boat and spent the day on the river. It was a lovely day and we sailed back and forth until four o'clock. When I came home I found an invitation to Lieut Leutze's wedding. He is to marry the daughter of N. J. McAlpine the engineer, at Pittsfield Mass. July 29. There was also a letter from Mr. Storer of Cincinnatti informing me that their art committe had just arrived from N.Y. and were much disappointed not to see me. Mr. Sharpless had intended to come up to Rondout to see me if he had time. They were obliged that I had acceded so promptly to their request for pictures. Gertrude sent Jeanette Hubbard's letter giving an account of her arrival home. Andrew Warren was to have arrived home in the same [?] having returned from Spain where he went for his health, but for some reason he had not come when she had mailed her letter allthough he had telegraphed he would be there.
