Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Saturday, July 5, 1873, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Saturday, July 5, 1873- The weather continues extremely hot and although I feel a strong impulse to be at work out of doors it is too hot to do anything unless one could be somewhere along a mountain stream. Mrs. Sawyer and Alice came up this evening by the Powell.
