Monday, June 9, 1873- Alida Van Dansen had a pic nic party today on the occasion of her fourteenth birthday. They went to Lake Mohonk. Gertrude and I were invited but did not go. Bowyer, Dwight and Sara went. They had a charming day and all enjoyed it very much. I busied myself arranging my sketch box and working in the flower garden. Answered a letter I received from the Louisville Exposition asking me to send pictures, saying I might do so provided they would insure them.
