Jervis McEntee Diaries

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Sunday, March 15, 1874, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Sunday, March 15, 1874- Went to the Park for a stroll this morning. The wind has ceased and the sun shone brightly but there was a lingering sharpness in the air. After I came home I read a while and took a nap as I began to feel a reaction from a nervous condition that I got into from the past week of wind and had symptoms of headache. In the evening we called at Vauxs and met him at the door just starting for Washington on Centennial business. Saw Mary a while and then stopped to see the Stoddards. The evening is mild and pleasant and I hope we are to have better weather.
