Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Monday, March 23, 1874, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Monday, March 23, 1874- The weather is cold again and the wind blows a gale the city buried in a cloud of dust. Mr. Fisher called. My little model came but as I was engaged with him I had to send him away. I painted on the picture all day however and have it nearly done. I wrote to Gussie last night and Gertrude wrote to Maurice.
