Friday, May 1, 1874- My two pictures came back from London yesterday with over $30 expenses on them besides Ranigers bill in London of over $50 in gold which I consider most extravagant. Alltogether it has cost me $150 to send and exhibit these pictures and have them returned, a luxury I dont propose to indulge in any more. Had one of my severe headaches all day and more at night.
