Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, December 28, 1875, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Tuesday, Dec 28, 1875 Have staid in all day on account of my cold which is getting better. Sketched in my Wilson picture and finished a small water color of my Autumn Idyl. Wrote to Gertrude, to Booth and to John Durand to get information regarding Taine. A dark day. Rained towards evening. Recd. a letter from Alice and one from Sam Coy Kendall enclosing check for $200 for the picture.
