Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday January 12, 1875

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Tuesday, January 12, 1875, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Spent the forenoon in packing a bale of articles to send to Girard and painted in the afternoon. The weather continues cold but not so cold as yesterday. I think a storm is approaching. I begin to feel that I ought to go to New York before long. I went on the 19th last year but fear I shall hardly get off by that time this year. Began my picture of Burning Christmas Greens. Received from Tim Mapes photographs of himself and wife and his four children.
