Calvert and I had our breakfast in time and went up to Yonkers by the 9.10 train arriving at his house at 11. Mary and Marian were at church and Downing and Irving Putnam were gone for a walk. Calvert and I took a walk along the bluffs. The autumn color is rapidly developing and must be at its height at home. We talked of our affairs which cannot help being uppermost in our minds. Mary and Marian returned as we did. Mr. Albert and his brother John in charge of Machinery Hall at the Exposition called.
