Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday September 5, 1876

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Tuesday, September 5, 1876, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Joe Tomkins came Saturday evening and went away again yesterday. The weather is cool and agreeable. I took a walk yesterday over towards Steep Rocks to see if I could get any suggestions for a picture, where I have got so many, but the seclusion of the region is gone and I was in an unhappy mood thinking of many worrying things. I wish I could go somewhere and settle down to sketching for the rest of the season, but I dont know where to go and cant bear to go any where alone.
