Jervis McEntee Diaries

Friday December 21, 1877

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Friday, December 21, 1877, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Capt Parsons whom we met at the White Sulphur Springs last summer and who insisted on showing us attentions and somewhat excited our suspicions by his officiousness called today. He wanted to borrow twenty five dollars, which I did not lend. Stone from Kaatskill called to refresh himself as he said by seeing something as he had seen no pictures in a long time. He apparently was not refreshed by any of mine as he did not condescend to speak of them and I had several of my best ones here. An artist from Cincinnatti called. I did not learn his name.
