Jervis McEntee Diaries

Wednesday February 14, 1877

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Wednesday, February 14, 1877, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Booth came on Monday and I began Iago and have painted on it each day since very nearly finishing it today. Tomorrow I am to begin "Ruy Blas" and get what I can of it as that is the last day he can give me. Last night we went to see the "Cricket on the hearth" at the Union League Theatre, an Amateur performance for Mr. Frothinghams society. Calvert was Caleb Plummer and acted it admirably. Mrs. Norse played Bertha very nicely.
