Monday February 11, 1878

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Monday, February 11, 1878, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Gave Girard my check for $500.33 for a note of my fathers he paid on Wednesday who left him my check for $390 to pay my fathers interest $350 and an order on John McEntee for $100 to pay my interest $140. So there goes nearly all I got for my picture. At Rhinebeck met Platt. We got in a car together but it was so filthy and crowded at Pokeepsie we got into a drawing room car where I met Church. They are at work on the ice. The Norwich was out making the ferry track. Tonight it is cold. Wrote to Mr. Dod the notice for my picture. An answer to Whitelaw Reid of a nice note from him about Pinchots affair I received as I left on Saturday. Also wrote to Gertrude.
