Sunday September 1, 1878
Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Sunday, September 1, 1878, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Eastman and I drove up to Palenville on Friday to visit Geo Hall remaining over night and returning yesterday. Funny incidents of the old antler, the sick house and Eastman bawling out in the middle of the night, thinking he was in the Adirondacs and being abandoned by his guide. The "pokiness" of sleeping in the room next the one where old Falk hung himself. Eastman left by Wallkill Valley 3.30 train. Telegram from Church telling me to meet him at Hudson at 9.30 A.M. Tuesday on our way to the Maine Woods. Answered I would meet him. Headache all last night and again today.
