Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday June 3, 1879

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Tuesday, June 3, 1879, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

It has been a rainy day. I commenced a picture 18x24 this morning and have worked on it all day and am getting on very well with it. It is a composition of Deans Corners scenery. It seems good to work again and I have not done much work for some time owing to interruptions. Mr. Satterlee called in the midst of the rain to ask me the price of the picture I sent to the St. Nicholas Club, as they had some idea of buying it for the club. I told him they might have it for $400. He said it had been intimated that they might buy it but he was not certain. Went up to Eastmans after dinner but they had gone out. Wrote to Sara.
