Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, February 3, 1880, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Tuesday, Feb 3, 1880 The wildest of snowstorms raging when I awoke. The wind blew a gale when I went over to breakfast and I found it difficult to get there. It has been the most severe storm of the season. Went over to the Brevoort House in the afternoon and found that Joe and Gussie went to Rondout by 11 o'clock train. Drew at the Academy in the evening from the female model.
