Jervis McEntee Diaries

Sunday January 4, 1880

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, January 4, 1880, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Sunday, Jan 4, 1880 Came to my room and finished my letter to Weir and wrote to Sara and sent my letter to Oscar. Miss Mabel White went home this evening. I called at the Wheelers and Giffords. Today I have felt calmer and less troubled. I am determined to try to pay off our mortgage by producing more pictures and selling them as best I can and by being careful of my expenses. It seems possible and I am going to try for it.
