Tuesday, Jan 11, 1881 [continued from Monday, Jan 10, 1881 entry] ...up to Rondout by the morning train. It was very cold. Rode over the river on the ice and Maurice met me on the other side and drove me up home. After dinner he, Sara, Nannie and I took a sleigh ride out to Leggs Mills. It was very cold going against the North wind . The snow was two feet deep with a hard crust making it difficult to turn out.
