Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, November 17, 1881, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Thursday, Nov 17, 1881 Went down town this morning and paid my fathers and my school tax and did a number of errands. Got some glass and put in the broken windows. The carpenters did not work today as the foundations are not sufficiently advanced. Had a dispute with Maurice this morning. He is so exasperating that I cant help checking him some times. He is a great trial in the family. A letter from Lucy.
