Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, November 23, 1882, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Thursday, Nov 23, 1882 The weather continues charming with frosty moonlight nights and clear, bracing days. I took my father and mother and Sara out for a drive this forenoon up to see the new rail road station upon which they are putting the roof and then out by Sanders' and around by the ford road and home past the Red House. The construction train passed up towards Saugerties as we returned. This afternoon I packed a barrel of apples and sent them to Mary and Calverts baggage he left at Mr. Beviers. Wrote to Weir and to Eastman. Sara and I called down at John McEntees but they were just going to Kingston to see "Hazel Kirke"[.] Stopped in to see Mrs. Van Deusen on our return.
