Sunday December 16, 1883

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Sunday, December 16, 1883, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Sunday, Dec 16, 1883 Painted a little on the two little pictures of my mother for Lucy and gilded the frames so as to send them to her tomorrow. Sara came and called me at 6 'oclock saying some one was ringing the door bell. We expected Tom McEntee so darn sleepy as I was I got up and went down stairs in the cold but found no one at either door or about the place. Went back to bed but was soon called again. Got up and found Tom who had come up with a night train. He and Calvert took a walk while I worked on the little pictures. This morning and this afternoon he and I walked through the Shand down to Perliockle and home by the [?] and the Print[?] road.
