Saturday, Jan 27, 1883 Began a picture 20x24 of a subject looking over the river, a bright sunny day in late Autumn and made a good start. I went home by the 3.30 train. Tom met me at Rhinebeck with Sara and Gussie. I found my mother only a very little improved.
