Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, February 13, 1884, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Wednesday, Feb 13, 1884 The weather continues to be as disagreeable as possible. The fog is something extraordinary and every one is talking about it. The floods in the Ohio are the highest in many years and there is great suffering and destruction of property. Have had many visits and done very little painting. Sara came and I went up to the Art Union with her. After I came back Kurtz came and I gave him the drawing of my Academy picture for his "Notes" also a ms. of Lake Lonesome for the Art Union Journal for March. Sara and I went to Dalys Theatre to see 7.20.8 which we both enjoyed greatly.
