Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, July 13, 1884, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Sunday, July 13, 1884 The day has been cool and delightful. Girard told me he had seen Mr. Wood and we are to be paid in a few days for the Turck property sold to Griffiths. This is a great relief to me and it will I hope relieve us from all money anxiety until I can sell something again. I wrote out statements of my money transactions with the family up to Jan. 1 1884 to give to each of my brothers and sisters and gave one to Girard. Calvert is to leave the description of our property which I copied, at Morgans in N. Y. I shall now be able to go sketching and hope to soon go up on the Rondout to see about going there to locate for August if I find it attractive.
