Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, September 24, 1884, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Wednesday, Sept 24, 1884 Rained in the night and foggy all forenoon. After dinner it looked like clearing and I went up the brook and made a sketch of some beech trunks along the road. The hound came dashing along by me again this time with two terriers. They have evidently been running all this time. A letter from Mr. Bachelder.
