Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, April 6, 1886, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Tuesday, Apr 6, 1886 A very disagreeable day of rain and wind. I worked on the figure in "Telling the Bees" but I cant get it to look like the study. I sent Maurices photograph, a copy of the Daguerrotype Susan Chamberlain gave me, to her in a little velvet frame and wrote to her. Spent the evening at Marys until 9 o'clock when I came to my room. It had ceased raining.
