Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, August 8, 1886, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Sunday, Aug 8, 1886 A beautiful day growing warmer towards evening. I wrote to Weir and have been reading a life of Inigo Jones in the lives of the British Artists by Allan Cunningham which Gertrude gave me. I am thinking of going to N. Y. some day to get my sketches and studies which for the first time I did not bring up with me this year. I think if I had them here I would paint something.
