Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, December 16, 1887, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Friday, Dec 16, 1887 Cool and bright with brisk N. W. wind. I feel better but I cannot help thinking of Girard and wondering how he will manage. I wish I could have helped him consistently with my other obligations. I worked on my picture all day but it is not satisfactory in tone. I called at Fred Nortons in the evening and then went to the club a little while.
