Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, November 12, 1887, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Saturday, Nov 12, 1887 Cloudy & Novembry. The mountains have some snow on their summits. I wrote to Mr. Colin for a tub of butter. Went over to Chester St where Mr. Keaton has commenced to dig the cellar for his house, and then down town where I got a letter from Lucy as did Sara also. Busied myself the most of the day getting my things together to go to New York.
