Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday November 8, 1887

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, November 8, 1887, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Tuesday, Nov 8, 1887 Tom is to work for the 4 months from Nov 15 to Apl 1[5?] for $20 pr. month and I am to pay him $50 of his wages due [?]. I went and voted directly after breakfast and took Tom along, [?] he was not registered and could not vote and so a Republican vote was lost. Went up to the station and engaged a cab to come for Mr & Mrs Sawyer at 6.30 tomorrow. After dinner I went over to the Cemetery and back by Chester St. then down town on some errands. I got some hooks for the barn and carriage house doors, put them on and put in some glass and have been on my feet all day.
