Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, April 20, 1888, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Friday, Apr 20, 1888 Rained in the morning. I went up to Pokeepsie by the 3.30 train Hudson River road. It was cool and windy when I arrived there. Sara was at the Wilkinsons, where she arrived the evening before after innumerable delays. She had found Nannie greatly improved, so much so that it was thought she might be able to come home in June. Her visit was very satisfactory. We spent a pleasant evening at the Wilkinsons. It is always a great satisfaction to be with such genuine people.
