Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, August 29, 1888, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Wednesday, Aug 29, 1888 A boy born to Julia and Harry Donaldson this morning in my room where several others of the family first saw the light. I have been to work all forenoon painting on the barn roof, but as it looked a little like rain I stopped at noon and went down town to get some green paint and I have been at work all afternoon repairing the putty and painting the storm windows which needed looking to very much. The weather is fine and like October.
