Belle Goldschlager Baranceanu (1902-1988) was a educator, muralist, painter, and printmaker in Chicago, Illinois and California. She studied at the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts and moved to Chicago where she taught art and exhibited her work. In the late 1920s, Baranceanu moved to California and settled in San Diego after some time in Los Angeles. She participated in the Works Progress Administration, Federal Art Project and created several murals throughout San Diego for schools and a post office.
