Summary: The papers of painter and educator Clark Richert (1941-2021) measure 19.4 linear feet and date from circa 1950-2021. Material reflects the Richert's work as well as an art history of Colorado and the West, and 1960s and 1970s counterculture movements in the United States. The papers span Richert's lifetime from childhood juvenilia and student work to papers from the Drop City artist's community in Southern Colorado, the Criss-Cross Art Cooperative and accompanying publication, and Richert's lengthy teaching career. Material includes project files; interviews; sketches; correspondence; printed matierial including newspaper clippings, posters and announcements of shows; personal business records; and photographs, slides and transparency images of Richert, his work work, and well as digital media and files.
