On back of photograph is stamped: Edward Heim Photo-Maker 67 West 67th St. New York.
Biographical/Historical Note
Art Gallery, New York, N.Y. Leonard Clayton founded the Leonard Clayton Art Gallery in New York, City when he took over the Marie Sterner Gallery. Later with his niece, Mary C. Liberatore, they established the Clayton-Liberatore Gallery. (The Clayton-Liberatore Gallery records are housed in the Archives of American Art collections).
Provenance
Donated 2002 by Shirley Mandel. Leonard Clayton gave the photograph to Shirley Mandel and her late husband, Jack. Mrs. Mandel, a member of Archives of American Art was moving and donated the image.
