Summary: The papers of Flora de Stephano regarding Robert Frederick Blum measure 0.2 linear feet and date from 1873 to 1932. Found are letters, legal records, photographs, and printed materials concerning de Stephano's relationship with Robert Blum and her claim to his estate.
Biographical/Historical Note
Flora de Stephano (1874- ) was often featured in the paintings of Robert Blum. After his death, she claimed to be his widow. Eventually, she received a small sum of money, some personal possessions, and three paintings by Blum from his executors.
Provenance
The papers were given to the donor, Alan Pensler, by Webster de Stephano Smith, a descendant of Flora de Stephano. Pensler donated the papers to the Archives of American Art in 1987.
