For the most part, this series consists of Hisako Hibi's sketchbooks and notebooks along with a few drawings, sketches and prints by Matsusaburo "George" Hibi and their daughter Ibuki. Most of the books include a mixture of sketches and writings. The writings are written in Japanese and English and range in subject from journal entries to notes on art, jottings about nature and details and sounds that caught Hisako Hibi's attention, and scenes from her travels across the U.S., as well as her trips to Japan. A few of the books and sketches are undated so they have been assigned loose date ranges.
The materials in this series have been arranged in chronological order.
The bulk of the materials in this series have been digitized, except for blank pages.
