Title: Photographs and descriptions of children who live on Eldridge Street by Sylvia Mangold
Date: 1969
Physical Details: Artists' Statement : 5 p. : various media ; 28 x 22 cm. (each page) 28x 88 cm (pages 2-5)
Description: Pages 2-5 are attached together by artist. Page 1 is detached but part of the piece. Pages 2-3: The tape adhesive at the paper joins was reduced slightly with the point of a crepe and viny (Magic Rub) eraser. Adhesive was further reduced under magnification with the tip of a scalpel. There remains some residual adhesive on the paper but it is diminished significantly and no longer appears to be causing the adjacent papers to stick together. Small amounts of wheat starch paste were inserted below some lifting fibers where they had been disturbed. These areas were burnished with a bone folder over a non-stick tissue. Wheat starch paste was inserted at the edges of a few tears, folds and partially detached pieces of paper around the perimeter of the piece.
