Description: Mail art by Tony Lowes to John Held Jr. consists of a postcard with text and logos stamped in ink. The mail art was sent by Tony Lowes to John Held in Dallas, Texas. It is possible the mail art was sent from from Ireland, because of text on verso which indicates where Lowes was based out of.
The printed text of the postcard is Lowes's manifesto "GIVE UP ART." On verso, the postcard is dated May 29, 1988 and includes handwritten text on the subject of mail art and the "Give Up Art" movement. A clipping of typescript text is included, which consists of a brief statement on Tony Lowes and the "Give Up Art" movement.
