Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Wednesday, Feb 12, 1873, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Wednesday, Feb 12, 1873- Wilmart came to measure my picture the "Danger Signal" today to box it for the Royal Academy Exhibition. It is to be ready Friday noon. I wrote to Wells Fargo & Co. from whom I received statement of terms etc. to get it so that they could send it by Saturday's steamer. Wrote to Raniger to whom it is to be consigned telling him it was coming and also telling him to send my October Snow home by W. F. & Co Express. Sent the note to the secretary of the R. A. tacked to the frame. It contained the little "Danger Signal" and price of 200 pounds.
