Sunday, March 22, 1874- Ned Tompkins and his daughter came to see us on Friday. I am painting every day on my boy shaving himself. I have my model every day but it is so dark where I work that I get on very slowly. Went to hear Mr. Frothingham. His text was "Not my will but thine be done."
