Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, December 30, 1875, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Sunday, Dec 30, 1875 Felt very well this morning and walked over to John St. & back. Since then have felt wretchedly and fear I am going to be sick. Wrote a long letter to Lambdin on Academy Affairs. Recd a letter from him today. Bierstadt had a reception today with a spread from Delmonico's. I don't think it was a great success. The weather was as bad as it could be. One of his guests Mrs. Park Godwin drifted up here and called on me.
