Jervis McEntee Diaries

Thursday February 11, 1875

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Thursday, February 11, 1875, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

It has rained in torrents all day but tonight has cleared off and is colder. Painted on my new picture. Menger called and told me a lot of things about the Cropseys. Girard came in the midst of the rain. Went over to Vauxs after dinner. Mary was sick in bed with a violent headache. Saw the boys and Lucy and Sara. Julia was going to the Liederkranz ball. Lucy, Bowyer and Downing are coming over to breakfast with me tomorrow. Received a letter from Gertrude and wrote to her.
