Jervis McEntee Diaries

Thursday February 25, 1875

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Thursday, February 25, 1875, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Sara, Mary Gifford and I dined with Sanford yesterday and went to see the Shaughraun which makes the third time I have seen it and that will suffice. Today has been most dismal. I took a walk in the morning and bought some little trinkets for the baby. The rest of the day I painted and Gifford, Hall and I dined with Fitch in his room as at that time the rain was pouring in torrents. Mary Vaux went up to Rondout today to spend a weekend. Mary Gifford has gone there to stay with Sara. Mr. Lincoln D. Wright came to see me today. Wrote to Gertrude from whom I received a letter this morning.
