Gifford came just before dinner and remained until after tea. We took a walk with Gertrude and Sara up to the Keykout and after tea I went over the river with him. We all enjoyed his visit exceedingly. I think he would like to join Whittredge and me. He said he would like to be with us if we got to work and I am to write to him after we get settled.
