Cold. Went in to Boston and called on the Bachelders. They had just moved in from the country and were very pleased to see me. Mr. B. recovering from his lameness. Saw in the morning paper the announcement of Taylors death in Berlin yesterday. I was prepared for it. I never expected to see him again but hardly looked for his death so soon. I thought most sadly of poor Mrs. Taylor and Lily and could not get them out of my mind.
