Jervis McEntee Diaries

Saturday December 7, 1878

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Saturday, December 7, 1878, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Painted on the little picture all forenoon and have nearly completed it. After dinner Mary and I took a walk over on the Vlightburgh. It froze hard last night and has thawed but little all day. A new interest manifested itself to me today. Is it to last? What is to be its result? A letter to Lucy from Alice tells her of the illness of her baby but it was recovering when she wrote. Her letter was filled with her love of and her regret for Gertrude. I have felt more cheerfull and happy today.
