Jervis McEntee Diaries

Tuesday July 23, 1878

Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Tuesday, July 23, 1878, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Gertrude, Sara, Laura & Osman went to N.Y. on the Powell on the Choral Union's excursion. Marian went with them on her way home. I worked on my screen. It was a cool, charming day. Received a note from Booth and one from S. G. Coale of St. Louis advising me not to send pictures to St. Louis as the affair was a fraud. His letter sounds as if he had a grievance.
