Sunday June 30, 1878
Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, Sunday, June 30, 1878, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Wrote to Miss Durfee, to Eastman Johnson and to a Mr. Ackerman a farmer who advertises for boarders at Saddle River N.J. asking him to tell me what sort of a country it is, his price for board and intimating that I may want to come there for a little while in the fall. The day has been extremely hot. Made a little sketch out of our window looking across the river which view has appeared almost the same in effect for several afternoons.
